Vegetables That Will Grow in a Florida Garden
Many of the vegetables that grow well throughout most areas in the United States will grow especially well in Florida. Lettuce, tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, kale, okra, onion, snow peas, and peppers are all vegetables that will grow well in this state. If you are a fan of potatoes, you will also be pleased to know that there are a variety of types of potatoes that will grow well in Florida. Red Pontiac, Gold Rush, and Yukon Rush potatoes will all grow well in Florida. In addition, you can also grow sweet potatoes. A variety of types of hot peppers also grow very well in this state. Almost any vegetable that you could possibly want to plant will grow well in Florida.
If you are want to have fruit in your garden then you must know that Florida is a great place to be able do this. A great many fruits that simply do not grow in other geographical areas of the North America do grow and grow very well in Florida. Citrus in the form of oranges, grapefruit, tangerines, limes, lemons, cantalope melons, watermelons, peaches, mangos, guavas, avocados, pineapples, winter strawberries and papayas all grow very well in Florida. A particular fruit of the fruits that is impossible to grow in other states but which can be grown easily and productively in Florida is bananas. Many different types of berries grow well in Florida as well, such as strawberries, blueberries, raspberries aalong with blackberries. Generally it may be said that almost any fruit that you may want to grow will be able to be grown in a Florida garden.
Anyone who is interested in growing fruits and vegetables in their garden can know themselves to be very lucky that they live in Florida. It is very easy to grow almost anything in this our state. Whether you want to be able to make a perfect salad from your own garden vegetables or if you want to make fresh orange juice or even fresh strawberry shortcake there is no question that our gardens in Florida grow and produce extremely well. Are you not sure what types of plants will grow well where you live in this state, then a good idea would be to visit a local nursery or ask your local Florida Agricultural Extension Service Office about produce gardening as well as what would be good choices for seeds. It is true that some fruits and vegetables will grow better than others here in Florida depending uon the time of year.

One advantage we have in Hawaii is that we can grow everything that grows in the whole state of Florida and also in other states, as we have different climates and elevations.... ;-)
