Hello all,
New to the group, but have a question already. We have two tomato plants, (huge planted in buckets) and for the moment they are very healthy. We just picked our first 5 tomatoes, and they are DELICIOUS! I've not grown a lot of tomatoes w/out my dads help, and unfortunately, he is not able to help with advice.
What is the best way for me to keep these plants producing? Do they now need more nitrogen, fertilizer, or what?
Does anyone have a particular schedule or protocol they follow after the first fruit? These are so good, I don't want the bushes to die any time soon!!
Thanks!!

Thanx for the input. I have used miracle grow and special Tomato fertilizer..I just don't want them to die now, and I thought they needed some extra nutrient at this stage.. lol.
You can search epsom salt and tomato plants and find more.
Syed, for the moment I am in the city, and other than my puppies "poo", I have none available. I did buy a bag of I think it's "black cow compost".. so I may add some of that.
These babies are so good, we just wanna eat them like apples!! Only have two bushes though so we can't... Argh!!
CL sent me a couple of links I'm gonna check out too!!
Thank you CL!!!
Sorry phil, would send you some but I've only got to bushes!!! ... I sent u a ping though :-)
No worries, you can bring it in bags in dry form, so you can use easily in the future...
I'm going to be growing mine (first time too) IF we ever stop this crazy weather here, in pots for the first time too, and it's not uncommon for you to get the fruit from first blooms till the first frost. They do need enough water, make sure that they get enough sun (which you're already doing as you've had tomatoes already), I know people have had luck with miracle grow, and my Dad used to use cow manure or horse manure, easy when you're out in the country, but they do sell it in garden supply stores (bagged and dried) too.
Wow, I'm jealous :)

try not ripping them out of the ground by their roots
that seems to help
