There is a stagnant mass of plastic TWICE the size of Texas floating in the ocean. Don't you think this is the kind of issue that should have made headlines somewhere? It is terrifying to think of how many items of plastic we use in a single day, only a tiny portion of which will be recycled, and will remain intact forever down to the molecules. It seems the more I learn about our environment that more depressed I am. I really want to cry! But I also have a burning in my heart that tells me I must do more, everything in my power, to make the world a better place for all living creatures.
Would it even be possible to live a day without using any plastic? That is an interesting challenge that I hope you will join in.
Today is out for me already since: my half n half is in a carton with a plastic pour spout, bread bag and twist tie, peanut butter jar and cap, yogurt container. And it is only 10:30 am!

I work with a group trying ot at least give us better choices in plastics and get the most harmful chemicals out of the products we buy at the stores.
