Peter, the reason the Coleman campaign believes the courts will side with him is because of the inconsistencies in the canvassing boards recount process.

More than 25 percent of precincts counted more ballots than there were voters who signed in on election night, and even one Canvassing Board member, State Supreme Court Justice G. Barry Anderson, has acknowledged that "very likely there was a double counting." If ballots are being counted twice, it clearly calls into question the integrity of the recount, does it not?

Notice how when it goes the other ways colmen starts to whine it's unfair. Wasn't he the first one to say we don't need the recount all missing or discounted ballots? Didn't he send a letter to Al to submit defeat and let him be the Senator??? Isn't he the one that has lost I think 3 court challengs already? I think he will get tossed again by the Supreme court again. Now we know where coleman really stands and it's not for the people of MN by his own political agendas.

Oh yeah I heard Pawlenty made a comment that coleman should use the Courts to resolute the Canvass board review. I find this a clear afront that he is wanting coleman to win and won't Certify Al even if the court already 3 times turn down coleman challenges. This is another nail in pawlenty coffin politics and will come to haunt him. coleman challengs comes off a sore looser he already lost 3 court challenges how many does it take coleman to think straight he is on a loosing front. This sore looser challenge will come to haunt him political in future politics he decides to go into.

If they were supposed to count paper ballots to match the machine totals, why add the "missing" ones in Dinkytown? Same goes for all the ones "found" in strong DFL precincts that were in addition to the final machine total ?

Once again, if it were happening to a Democrat the media would be all up in a fuss. The media standards are different for Democrats.

Sen Klobachar is playing this best, which is don't say anything stupid and wait and see.
She has to work with whomever wins, so it's best to let it play out. There is enough chaos in the Senate already, so staying low for a week or two is a good thing for either party.

Why the entire time did Norm Coleman have a lead in the votes, throughout the recount, until the very end when a mere 'handful' of ballots changed it over to Al Franken having a bigger lead than Norm going into it? I have a hard time believing that any random sample of ballots could favor one opponent so much in such a close race. The wrongly rejected ballots that are now counted for all come from districts who favor Al Franken. How come they did not accept similarly rejected ballots in districts that favored Norm Coleman?

Something just seems fishy to me.

The way Coleman has handled this recount is shameful. The last shred of respect I had for him is gone. He is delaying Minnesotans full representation in the Senate as he tries to cling to a position he has been voted out of.

This one was in the bag for Franken when the recount started...LOL (bitter laughter there) when all those Dem votes started showing up in vehicles and other hiding places in the Dem districts it was clear the fix was in.

But strangely no media outrage, guess such non partisanship isn't needed this time.

I am so sick of it.

I just wish they'd hurry up so someone can declare victory and be seated.

And fix the problems that led to the recount in the first place!
