I've a got a can of pop, a bag of chips and a fatty, waiting for the results to come in.
I'll try to blog what I'm hearing as they come in.
Richard - I'll be interested to learn how that turns out. Did you feel supported in your efforts?
Go Obama!
I just can't wait to get these criminals outta la casa blanca. I'm sick of having the people who run our country only have its worst and most base and greedy interests at heart.
Having consulted with a young voter, I've been informed that her friends are McCain supporters and a few support Ron Paul.
OBAMA 55%
MCCAIN 45%
MA, Ill, CT, DL, NJ, MD, ME, DC,
McCain now projected to win:
OK, TN
No projections yet:
AL, FL, MS, Missouri, NH, PA
Obama:51.9
McCain: 47.6
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's worth it just to see that!!! as of 7:26pm Central
Still watching and counting...
It's worth just seeing Texas SO close!!!
It would be nice to get rid of Sen. Cornyn (R) too!
Obama 102
McCain 49
of the time, because I want to hear that history has been made.
I think its all very exciting.
McCain ahead by 0.4 now...
Still to early to be serious...
Just good to see it that close...
Florida - With 39% reporting, it's 52% Obama and 48% McCain.
Obama has carried the major population centers by BIG margins (e.g., in the 60's)
Houston, Dallas, Austin...
McCain ahead in rural areas...
(Texas has a lot of rural areas!)
BUT, San Antonio has not been counted yet or El Paso... Those could be big
It's still early...
Texas likely to still go to McCain...
Good to see it SO CLOSE HERE!!!
The McCain Camp made a formal objection about calling PA for Obama this early - for whatever that means or leads to.
I suppose the Democrats.........kind of want to keep that a secret. Don't ya think?
I can barely allow myself to even imagine that Obama will win. I've been bitterly disappointed so many times before. So I'm tripping between excitement and fear. Colin Powell was right, this is a transcendent moment in American politics... and we're living an historic moment.
See you all later!
If I am also not mistaken, Bush has used his veto less than did Clinton.
How will he be able to keep Pelosi and Reid in line?
Or shall we say, how can he keep from becoming irrelevant?
We've had veto proof majorities before under Democratic administrations and the president never became irrelevant. It would be nice if the congress would take back their manhood from the blind trust in which it has been placed! But don't worry, this president will know how to use the veto pen and will be a strong presence in all that takes place.
San Antonio still not posted...
A strident majority Congress will not be good for Obama or the Democrats. I would think the people who know that the best are the very people on Gather who were screaming for divided government two years ago.
The Rio Grande Valley is going Obama
This is BIG that Texas is SO close!
Local news has been talking about the implications of this CLOSE race in Texas, even if it goes to McCain!!!
Whoooooooooop!!!
I think that McCain will catch up.
Yeah...right.
[ *rolls eyes* ]
Texas is solid red, but Virginia looks like it just might flip.
Haven't heard anything local yet
It did look good for passage though
Ecept finally giving the boot to the vile, criminal corrupt GOP that occupied the White House and picked the pocket of future generations while SOME patted them on the back...
Are they the same people and are the reasons for their departure because of faith in the new Majority will do whats right and not lead through corruption on behalf of the few?
I know what you mean my friend ! LOL
I'm not used to this pace any more ;>}
The Decrates gave us the current economic melt-down. The sub-prime crisis is a crisis of REGULATION not deregulation. It was Clinton's HUD secretary Andrew Cuomo who worked to REQUIRE Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to issue 56% of their portfolio as sub-prime mortgages.
.....but then somehow this became "Bush's" fault.
MCCAIN 85
Everybody on TV are wondering how it's possible for McCain to catch up
It's feeling good !
If the economy was in such a precarious position and a President does not act to correct it but, allows the economy to tank, who's fault is it ?
