Bad timing on my part! I went last night. All the nuckleheads were at the Rage concert across the river! DAMN! I wanted to taunt the NON PEACEFUL "peace" protesters!

Only only the bar was open. The other half was closed off. The bartender said most of the hard liquor behind the bar was 20 years old. We checked a few bottles and they didn't have a bar code. So the stuff is old. It's a shame that these folks don't open this place full time. All the fuss for keeping the joint from the wrecking ball and they don't operate it! Their liquor licence goes until Sept of 2009. They said they might be open during Wild Games. I don't know if the mechanical systems are up to code on the food side. Sure would be cool to have the place open. Going to the Gopher Bar for food is sometimes a challange, if you know what I mean.

MPR should do a story on what's next for the Coney Island.
A. How long is their liquor licence for?
B. Are there mechanicals up to date for a Type One kitchen?
C. You wouldn't even have to fix the place up. Leave it as is. That's the beauty.
