The Boston Mayoral race is a big one. Current mayor, Thomas Menino is battling Michael Flaherty, current City Councilor and former City Council President. If re-elected Menino would serve his 5th term, the first mayor to do so in Boston's history.

For an off year election, lots to watch.

Locally, how will IRV go in Mpls? Will St Paul approve?

Nationally, New Jersey, New York, and Virginia, will affect the mood of all running for relection next year at this time.

I haven't had a lot of interest locally. Other than Pawlenty going to NY to campaign for the Coservative. No doubt now that he's running on the far right for the 2012 presidential primaries.

Here in Ohio, the big issue was Casinos. They were voted in, and within two years we will have casinos in the four major cities. Personally, I voted against it.
I have nothing against gambling, but there were no provisions to encourage the builders to use in state workers, contractors or otherwise utilize Ohio based revenue.

But then they don't call it winning do they?
