No, really. Singer/songwriter Ann Reed and the Morning Show ask you to help craft a song for the state of Minnesota. While they also ask for landmarks or your feedback on what the song should say about your favorite part of Minnesota, this jumped out at me:
Give us a word. One word. If you do a word association with Minnesota, what is the one word you think of? Think of a word that needs to be in the song.
Remember this is for a song celebrating our state's sesquicentennial year, so be fair, funny, and FCC friendly.

Susan did you mean, "So" to have that "Sooooooh" length?
Secretly I'm hoping an actual Loon call makes it into the song, Diana, but that's kinda kooky, isn't it.
Dylan
potholes
ethanol

Target

Vasaloppet
Mall

Pipestone

Taking Frick's lead, I'm thinking in geologic and mineral terms this morning - words like:
granite
glacier
agate
ore
taconite
and correct me if I'm wrong here, but "gneiss", which is a type of rock, prounced "nice"
carboogers(you know, the ice in the wheel wells)
see, they are all one word
uff da!
Actually Dale, I'll take your word for it. *grin*
There are some good associations for Minnesota here (and some I wish weren't associate with our state... like mosquito) so I hope Ann gets a good spark out of 'em.
