Esquire magazine's Chris Jones expounds on Minneapolis' beloved bar in the feature No. 9: Nye's Polonaise. This excerpt is particularly poetic:
The best bar in America lies across the Mississippi from downtown Minneapolis over a bridge named for Father Louis Hennepin, and it has a sign on its yellow-brick exterior that points the way to Our Lady of Lourdes, cast in the red-neon glow of another that reads LIQUORS.
Seems Esquire has been searching for the best bars (tough job but somebody's got to do it, eh?) for awhile now and likes the Minneapolis landmark, although they include a nice collection of bars around the country and offer a handy list to those in the Midwest.
Speak up, speak out: Is Nye's the best bar in America?

One vote for... [x] yes !
In other news, I'm certain everyone here reads Esquire for the articles and exclusive fiction excerpts.
I believe the Post Tarts have enjoyed an evening at the bar?
Don't get me wrong, I dig Nye's, but it's not even the best bar in northeast.
Ponce give a vote for [x] No with a "c'mon" editorial. So noted! ;-) What is the best bar in northeast, then? Or are you holding out?
C'mon Ponce. Spill.
Hmmm Ponce's favorite bar has numbers in it. Hmmm..
Let's see, Nordeast, numbers, I bet it has a real cool sound mixer...Hmmm..
;)
Not sure really why that is, but a couple times i had to say to said staff people "If you hate working here, don't take it out on us/or get a new job."
