Let's see eight more days until the big day. November 17th will be my 40th! birthday. I decided to treat myself to an early birthday present. Last Saturday, November 2nd, I attended the 4th annual writer's conference right here in Avondale, AZ.
I attended the first conference in 2010 (wrote about my experience then on gather). It was free because of a grant the city was given. Now they charge a fee, but this year it went down and they were including breakfast and lunch in the price. Here is part 2 of my wrap up.
The first weekend of November was very busy. Then yesterday, I learned Stone Crowns second issue would be released today. Of course I need to promote it. It is a young adult literary magazine. I submitted a double dactyl, "Spikier Spongier," poem they accepted. Check out issue two. It is free to download and includes great stories and artwork along with a few poems.
I'm not sure how the third weekend in November will be spent other than eye doctor appointments for the girls Saturday morning. I keep telling everyone I want to erase the days off the calendar. Twitter has a #savetheday trend for November 23rd! I'm all for that hashtag. ;) Maybe the doctor will come and save me from the big 4 0!
