Shellie Zimmerman may be the one on the hook in the case in Lake Mary, as police said on Wednesday that it was George who was struck first, allegedly, not her. Lake Mary Police officer Zach Hudson said it appears Shellie whopped George on the back with her iPad, which started the whole tense situation escalating, according to a September 11 Sun Sentinel video report.
Officer Hudson made it clear that if there is any iPad coverage that is retrievable, and which shows George or Shellie as an aggressor, then his police department plans to take the appropriate measures allowed by the agency to address any crime. However, he also said that no one should expect that to happen for several weeks or months, since the iPad was damaged extensively, and even a chip within it was damaged. So there may be no way to recover anything usable on it, actually.
If it does turn out that the iPad reveals George only got physical after Shellie smacked him upside the back with her iPad, then cops would have to take her into custody as the instigator, not George. So it is no wonder she and her father refused to press charges. Law enforcement officers advise parties in domestic dispute cases that the facts better support their allegations or they will be coming back to arrest them if they don't. And it is a given that the Lake Mary Police advised Shellie and her dad the same thing on the scene that day, which is why they wouldn't sign any sworn statements right after the altercation.
George Zimmerman's wife has already lied to one officer of the judicial system, so it would not pay for her to lie to another, especially when she is already serving a one-year probation for the first charge. But you know what they say about a woman scorned, and Shellie Zimmerman appears to be a scorned woman, doesn't she?
Will this latest incident be enough of a wakeup call for Shellie to stop harassing her husband now? Maybe she should just move on with the divorce and her life, and stop trying to get her husband to buy himself a permanent life insurance policy naming her as the sole beneficiary. His mother and father should have that if he and Shellie divorce, not her. And wanting her future ex-husband to buy her a life insurance policy on him makes it look like she is gunning for him, and this latest incident supports that hypothesis.
