On Tuesday it was revealed that George Zimmerman has now been accused of domestic violence against his wife Shellie Zimmerman after he allegedly pulled a gun on her in Lake Mary, the Orlando Sentinel reported.
Tina Turner talked about her own battles with a husband who abused her physically during a recent Oprah Winfrey television interview. But Domestic violence in the Tina Turner home involved physical altercations on a frequent basis and was much more violent than the alleged altercation between what is alleged to have happened between George, his wife Shellie, and her father this week.
According to news sources, there were no significant physical injuries in the George Zimmerman incident and even the 911 call allegation that George was wielding a weapon he planned to use was untrue. His attorney said Zimmerman did have his gun on him (who wouldn't in his situation), but it was holstered and under his shirt the whole time.
Threats of physical violence are serious and require police intervention when they learn of it, but women who are not being targeted for such acts shouldn't go around making false accusations against their husbands when it is nothing more than a disagreement between them. That diminishes the real domestic violence cases that happen every day across the nation.
Shellie Zimmerman is angry at her husband for not showing up in court to support her for lying to a judge during his murder trial (she said so on national television recently), so it appears she is getting even by doing the one thing George would fear most: making an allegation about him involving his gun.
That's a low blow from any wife to her husband, but especially when it isn't true and involves a weapon that led to his murder trial. And it just proves in this case that Shellie Zimmerman is trying to use the legal system to her advantage yet again. After all, if she does divorce George she needs a good case in order to walk away with any kind of money or property they now own--or that he might come into if and when he ever sells his story about the Trayvon Martin shooting.
Lake Mary Police Chief Steve Bracknell said on Tuesday that when it comes to the Zimmerman incident in Florida that "We have no victim, no crime." And more than anything else that says it all: Shellie Zimmerman is lying again. This time it is about her husband. And George should sue her sorry butt.
