Not only will George Zimmerman live the rest of his life looking over his shoulder, it looks like anyone who has a name similar to his will have to do the same. A man with a name spelled similar to the "justified" killer has been targeted by hateful calls, which goes to show that many people just refuse to pay attention to spelling. So that makes them both stupid and angry -- a dangerous combination.
His name is George Zimmermann and he is in no way related to the man who was just acquitted in the slaying of Trayvon Martin. Nonetheless, he's been targeted by threats because of how closely his name matches. The wrong George Zimmerman (n) is a Methodist preacher who has found the threatening calls to be so severe that he needed to recruit the help of his local police department.
This isn't the first person to come out and complain about being targeted. A woman was the victim of several threatening phone calls simply because it was close to Zimmerman's. Meanwhile, officials in Fla. have been dealing with as many as 400 death threats per minute directed toward the acquitted killer.
