Adam Lambert's fans were giddy with excitement when Glee co-created Ryan Murphy announced last week that Adam is joining the show's cast. However, it looks like it will be longer than expected to see the American Idol alum back on the small screen. With the tragic death of Glee star Cory Monteith, rumor is that the beginning of this season will be delayed. According to USA Today, if the airdate is delayed, it would likely return after the World Series in late October or early November. Apparently writers are trying to figure out how to re-write the two opening episodes, in which Monteith had been expected to play a major role.
There is no word as to what exactly will be Lambert's role, or even how often he will appear on the show. In an interview early this week, he stated, "I have no detail yet. All I had was a meeting with Mr. Ryan Murphy, who's incredible, and we brainstormed a little bit about what could possibly be my role. So it's kinda still in development."
Even if Glee is delayed, Adam still has plenty to keep him busy. He has a concert in California on July 19, and will be performing at the iHeartradio Music Festival with Queen in September. Additionally, although he is parting with his label, that is not stopping him from working on new music. In fact, songwriter Conrad Sewell tweeted on Monday about working with Adam and writer/producer Jamie Hartman. Likewise, Adam's friends recently teased on Instagram about listening to his new music.
