 I have an important tip for you today.  When the time changes and you spring forward, don't forget to change all the clocks.  Yep, it is true that not all clocks set themselves automatically.  Imagine my surprise when I was supposed to be somewhere at noon and the clock in the kitchen said it wasn't even eleven.  I thought I was doing great. I could run in and take a quick shower before I work Roger up. I hurried in and took my shower, started to dry my hair and then my thoughts went to Roger and I decided I had better get him up now.  When I went in the bedroom, the first thing I saw was the clock.  It is one of those atomic clocks that shine the time on the ceiling.  It was about a minute till noon.  I was late!  My mind went into overdrive and that is never good!  I had to do double time and that threw me off balance.  I called a young lady to tell her I was running late and she said everyone else was behind as well. Thankfully her and another dependable gal was on time and ready to get things started.  They were great!  I just love these amazingly strong and dependable ladies that are always on top of things. 

Now for the tip:  Make sure you changed all your clocks in the house to reflect the updated time.  



 

 

I Have not Had a Great Month

I have not had a great month health wise.  Let me start out by saying that some of it is my fault.  I let my weight get out of control and I gained about 35 pounds in the last year.  So I am suffering all the consequences of being over weight, my blood pressure is up, my cholesterol is up.

 

 

 Forget that stupid ground hog who has no idea what he's talking about.  Ask the tulips.  Back on February 2nd, Groundhog Day, the ground hogs around here said there would be 2 weeks left of . . .

LOL Well the one on the computer and cell phone set themselves. LOL I still have one foot in pioneer side of life and the other in the modern tech side. I just can never remember which foot I am standing on at the time. LOL

Oh by the way, I had Roger take the clock down when we got home and it is broken! No fix to it so I will be wearing my wrist watch in the kitchen from now on. Someone ask if I updated the clock on the microwave. That is a story within itself. We bought the microwave at a yard sale. We have to keep it unplugged to keep it from running all by itself. It is possessed. I really need to get a new one but no more than we use it, it is just not necessary right now.

I have no idea how to set the microwave clock, so just let it go.....I'm buying a new clock for the kitchen, that I found on Amazon.com, to put on the shelf above the sink........our clock in the car was almost impossible to get turned ahead....I told hubby just to leave it.......that we'd just have to add an hour on to the time, but he finally got it.....too bad it wouldn't change automatically!

I use an ink pen to set the one in the minivan.

The clock in the kitchen was left by the previous tenants of our home so it really is not a financial loss that it does not work but it sure put a damper in my day. LOL

Most clocks in modern tech stuff do change automatically. The one in the bedroom reset itself. It is great. I can look up at the ceiling and tell what time it is.

I'm glad you got it all fixed up. My husband is good about fixing the clocks before I get up. He uses his cell phone for an alarm clock.. and that automatically changes time. Sometimes his work has him working in the middle of the night so we have to be flexible here time wise. With my sleep apnea problems it can work out for me to get him up... as I am already up. :)

My cell phone reverted back the hour on Saturday. It was so strange....Angela's did too. It only happened for about an hour though. It was very odd....and hard to deal with. LOL

We try to change them all, but usually manage to miss one or two. The two I most often overlook are the car clock and my watch. Now that I think of it, DST has not yet come to the upper level of our house ;) I'll get there eventually.

Wow so many post. And so little time :( Playing catch up here. So behind. Reba is back in the hospital. Had another seizure and fell in the kitchen while I was at work yesterday and her daughter was at school. She fractured her neck. So needless to say I've been running around like a mad woman. Wanted to get online yesterday after getting home from the hospital, to unwind, but internet was down. Like it wasn't bad enough, my headlamp went, coming back. Driving on dark rural roads, isn't any fun. Had no choice but to use high beams. At least I got that fixed. Did a post about Reba for more details. Oh and talking about clocks not changing, my cell never did oddly enough. Still haven't fixed that. I'm sure there are others around here to. To much has been happening. Hope things by you are better.

Dee, I'm sorry to hear this. That poor woman has been through so much. I really hope she will get well and be able to go home soon. Give her my love. I know this can't be easy for all of you, I just want you to know we all care here on Gather. Love you both.

Thank you so much Mary! Poor woman can't catch a break. The EMT's around here know her by first name. She's doped up half the time on Morphine. So when I am at the hospital I try to pay extra attention, to what all the nurse and doctors say. It's sucky because my hearing isn't very good. But I think they are realizing this. Friday she will have surgery, to put in a screw to stabilize the fracture. I have so much medical data in my head I feel like I have been to medical school. If I was a computer, I would have shut down from overload. If they put anymore metal in her, she will be the bionic woman! She needs a sign that says "I stay clear of magnets" LOL!

Connie, I may be old, but you are going to give me a case of the big head. I'm going to feel like an important person! Thank you so much. The Shattered Pretty Epic has been fun and I'm enjoying doing it. I was thrilled to see you as a reporter, and immediately thought well of course you should be in it. Life can be so fun sometimes, can't it.

Just in case, a case of the big head means a person is full of himself or herself.

I change my alarm clock the night before, and the kitchen range and microwave first thing in the morning. I have a battery operated wall clock which I can see from the shower; I change that when I take a shower the morning of the time change.

I hate time changes. My computer and my weather station automatically change times, but that's it and I have at least one clock in every room. It takes hours to go around and change all of them.

We actually got RID of all our clocks that don't change automatically. I'm all for automating as much of my life as possible. Makes things easier. So the only clocks we have to change are the microwave and stove - and we don't use those for time anymore as a result!
