I hardly ever see movies in theaters anymore. Generally I can wait for it to come out on video, and I much prefer to watch something in the comfort of my own home. For one it's cheaper. For 2 you don't have to worry about tall people sitting in front of you, loud people sitting behind you, those who don't know how to silence cell phones, those who like to talk through the whole movie, those who rattle wrappers.. etc etc. Plus of course my sofa is a lot comfier than a theater seat.
But here's the kicker.. so we pay all that money to get in to see the movie, then there's the expensive popcorn and soda.. then the lights finally go down.
First there were about 5 minutes of ads for the theater itself, career opportunities, group tickets, advance sales.. all that junk. Then, 5 minutes of actual commercials!! I can't believe they're showing commercials in a movie theater now. One for charmin toilet paper, then one for toothpaste, then one for soda.. ugh.
Then they finally get on to the previews, and this part I actually enjoy.. but the movie time said 6:45.. when the opening credits started it was actually 7:05! 20 minutes of commercials and previews! Are you kidding me?
This really makes me less and less likely to see anything in theaters again. I think I am even more convinced to just wait until it's on video.
