Thanks so much, Vj. It is strange you decide to spend the rest of your life with a stranger, so to speak, but that is the power of pheromones we call love.

My late parents got married not long after they met as well, 5 months later. My late Grandfather quickly threw together a nice wedding and reception for them. The photos made it look fabulous. He did well for my Mother. Their reasoning my parents told me for doing it.. when they did? Um the place they worked for, was going out on strike...and they figured if they were going to be out of work, they might as well get married and go on a honeymoon. They went to my late Great Uncle's hunting cabin... They were together 52 years until my Mother passed away. Both are gone now.

I thought I would let you know, you were not the only one. :) Of course the more interesting couple was my late Aunt Helen and Uncle Henry. Their mothers lived next door to each other. They were born on the exact same day. They were playmates, and never dated anyone else. They got married and were together until my Uncle Henry passed away in the Holland Tunnel. He went in alive, had a massive heart attack on a bus and passed away. So basically they were "together" since they were born. Now Uncle Henry's sister my Great Aunt Gertie was older. After both their husbands had passed away Aunt Helen asked Aunt Gertie why Her and her late husband never asked them to go out with them on a double date when they were dating acting very insulted about it. Aunt Gertie replied, "We didn't because you both were only 13 years old." I guess Aunt Helen forgot the close to 10 year age difference. :)

Very interesting stories, Heather. I'm so glad to learn I'm not the only one! But I did fall madly in love with an outrageous charmer!

To be borne up on the gale of passion, like leaves in the wind, eager to be taken wherever it will is an amazing feeling...make all the ensuing reasonable times seem bearable... True love becomes a deep, serene flow of energy and commitment...a river of devotion, but, how we smile at the boisterous churning of lust of the shallows when we were younger, more boisteouse and insane... :)

My uncle met his wife and 3 months later they married. We all thought he was nuts. But they were married for 15 years until the day he passed away. I guess he wasn't so nuts after all!

It dawned on me much later that perhaps we were nuts, so it's so reassuring to learn that there were many more nuts like us, or as you say perhaps not so nuts after all. It's a shame your uncle died so young.
