I am about half way through the Fifty Shades of Grey. I have never been so disturbed reading one book. I squirm and have to take breaks. Normally I can read straight through a book but this one I can't. I've tried but it's just not possible.
I want to read through because the characters interest me but all the sex stuff is just uncalled for. I'm just positive that this book shouldn't be labeled adult fiction it should go straight to erotica.

Personally, I never went for "details." Give me a couple of Vice Vukov CDs, a bottle of Sljivovica, and my HUSBAND, and I've got all I need!
I've even heard erotica referred to, disturbingly, as "Mommy Porn." Some are saying it has helped their marriage, others say it's raised the bar too high.
There are times when I feel like I'm on the Liberal-Conservative pendulum, and we're not necessarily talking about politics here. I'm as open about the next person about sex. NOBODY would ever call me a prude. However, I'm not for letting it all hang out either.
That said, I was signed up for this Kindle service that would automatically send the top reads from Amazon to my Kindle every day. Loved the service, till this book came out. It kept sending my 50 Shades wannabe's, so there were a bunch of somebodies out there that loved the book and were in love with anything else like it because that went on for weeks. Had to cancel the service and it has taken me forever to get all the erotica deleted from my Kindle. It wasn't that hard to do via the MyKindle part of Amazon, but while it immediately deleted from my Kindle app on the iPad, the cover images all remained on my Kindle Fire. I would not let the twins borrow my Kindle for months because I could not get the covers entirely deleted no matter what and those covers were rated XXX.
Not only are the twins too young to see any of that, but they have super big mouths, so I would have to explain why that was on there to anyone that they let know about it. I finally got it all to go away last month, when I had to reboot the Kindle, it deleted everything, but as soon as I got it attached to my account again, just the stuff I still owned downloaded, thank god.
As for the XXX problem, I think Kindle should have guarded viewing feature, like Gather does. You're absolutely right about kids borrowing their parents kindles.
And I think that all electronics should have that block.
And to be honest, I guess you have been warned :-)
By the way, you actually CAN enjoy the books without having interest in BDSM. I am glad I found them. In 10 years, I never heard "No please, I need a break" from my husband before ;-P
Some parts are even romantic *lol*
Oh, I love these books... *blush*
So sorry for your bad experience with that book!
It came from dollar surveys through sampleicious,us. thats as close as I can get it.
