This week on Chicago Fire, Shay tells Severide that she wants to have a baby after her heart was broken again by Clarice. She became quite attached to her baby and now she knows that she wants to be a mother. Severide's dad, Benny, shows up at the station and tells his son how proud he is of him. However, Chief Boden doesn't look too happy that the elder Severide is there.
Dawson, Hermann and Mouch sit down to find out what is in the small box they found. Inside was a war medal along with a note. They decide to track down the owner.
The team gets a call to a building where a party was happening, but now people are trapped and screaming trying to get out because of a potential hazardous material leak. Hermann then discovers the culprit was a can of pepper spray. Benny went long for the ride but is obviously upset after being on the call.
Heather, Darden's widow, stops by to see Casey. She asks if she could tag along with him to the Academy dinner. Casey says that a bunch of them are going and that would be fine with him. Shay confides in Dawson that she is trying to find a sperm donor to have a baby. Dawson questions her decision. Shay told her friend that she is not asking for permission from her, but only telling her the news.
Mills tells Dawson that he is sad not to have his dad there after seeing Severide with his dad. Later, Mills asks Dawson to the dinner and they decide to come out as a couple. They end up sneaking in a kiss at the station which Casey walked in on in the hallway. Casey was trying to not be jealous.
Shay tells the others at the station that she wants to have a baby and is looking for a sperm donor. Casey lets her know that he is on her side. Dawson is still not so sure this is a good idea.
On another call, Shay finds a crying baby in the next room and is obviously affected by it as the baby is taken away by child services. Will she decide to adopt instead of having her own? It seems that Boden and Benny are at odds over Mills' father who died while on a call. Boden met with Mills' mother who is afraid Benny will say something stupid at the dinner. Boden assures her that everything will be fine.
Dawson, Herman and Otis finally locate the owner of the war medal they found in the box. He is grateful to them for bringing it back and talked about the love of his life, his wife Molly. The three were so touched by the war veteran that they decided to name their new bar after his deceased wife. The bar is now called Molly's.
At the Academy dinner, Boden gave a speech and talked about Mills' father, calling him a hero. Benny walks out during it. Afterwards, Boden approached Benny. Words fly between the two men as Benny put the blame of Mill's death on the chief. He spilled the fact that Boden had slept with Peter Mills' mother and that was what caused his death. Unfortunately, Dawson heard the whole thing.
Casey drove Heather home and things got quite heated as she gave him a lingering kiss before she got out of the car. Will more sparks fly for those two or will Casey put a stop to it before it goes any further?
