Michael Bloomberg, Mayor of NYC, has become sort of a point man in the political fight to impose stronger controls on gun sales in the USA. He scored a significant, though small, political victory yesterday. after shoveling $2 million to the political campaign of Robyn Kelly, a Democratic Primary challenger for the Congressional seat of Jesse Jackson junior, he was pleased to watch her whip her main primary opponent, a gun rights Dem , Debbie Halvorson.
It is a controversial thing, the use of Super PAC cash to influence he outcomes of elections. But it is a sword that cuts both ways. So many times, out of state NRA cash has ended the careers of gun control figures. Nice to know that out of state cash can achieve the opposite outcome, if there is enough of it?
