What do bananas have to do with Adam Lambert? That's what he is wondering and Adam asked his Japanese fans last night at his show in Osaka. For the past year, when he has performed in Japan many fans in the audience have held up bananas striped with black duct tape. Obviously, they are showing spirit for the black and yellow striped Trespassing theme of his sophomore album. But does the banana have any other significance?
Adam danced with a fan's striped banana on stage and joked that maybe it is a "special" boomerang banana. He also modeled it on his hat as "fashion." Of course, he couldn't resist a little innuendo as well, tucking it in his shirt near his mouth saying, "So close and yet so far away."
If nothing else, the banana shows the spirit of his fans and gives him a good laugh. Watch Adam's reaction to the banana at last night's show in the video below:
What do you think of the Trespassing themed bananas at Adam's Japanese concerts? Are they showing Trespassing spirit, or just plain odd?
