devil wind

All my plans for going out to day went right into the dumpster. The devil wind has been blowing hard, and it's also cold.

The ground is icy, and the wind is biting.

Besides making it miserable outside, this wind and cold also made my back hurt worse then usual.

I have degenerative disk disease, a part of osteoarthritis that is no fund at all. That, on top of my knee with the torn ligaments, made it impossible for me to go out today.

So I stayed home and inside, instead of going out to visit friends and, more importantly, to attend the monthly book club meeting. The book was Daughter of Fortune by Isabelle Allende, and historical fiction that involves Zorro, among other bits of California history. Many people don't realize that Zorro was a real person.

Well, anyway, it's time for dinner. All I feel like eating is the homemade banana bread that I baked yesterday.

Sigh.

We had our usual steak house salmon filets and vegetable soup, and BBQ chicken from Jewel, plus Dad and I shared a couple of cod filets from there. Once I took the breading off there wasn't much meat there though! I hear what you say about those winds -- we've had some fierce ones too though today it got into the mid 30's. Thanks for posting this and keep thinking spring!

I'll try posting again! I sure am sorry that your day was lousy, Tessa, and that you were in pain. I hope you get to feeling better soon. We had beautiful weather today, up to 68. Nice after 2 days of solid rain. I had a bowl of pasta w/ marinara sauce for dinner. And, found a small pack of cookies for a little bit of sweetness!

It seems all we get is rain for this winter.

overall, we've had a mild winter with less snow than usual, and although it has been colder than usual, the wind has not come as often as in past years
