This past week my job took me to Honolulu. I left Salt Lake Tuesday morning for a flight to Los Angeles. I then caught a flight to Honolulu. After picking up my rental, I drove to the hotel. About 7:00, I met my employee and took him to dinner.
We went to a restaurant on the marina called "Nico's at Pier 38." It's a place where the locals enjoy dining. I had the Furikake Pan Seared Ahi. It was a fresh tuna ahi steak coated with Japanese dried seaweed and sesame seeds then cooked to order, from rare to well-done (I had mine cooked medium). It was served with Nico's ginger garlic cilantro dip. It also came with brown rice. It was delicious.
The Restaurant is under a roof but the huge bay windows open up to the marina. We were fortunate to get a table right by the marina. There were also a couple guys playing classical guitars.

After dinner, I went back to my hotel, did a bit of work and went to bed.
I arose Wednesday morning, skipped breakfast, drank a couple cups of coffee and got caught up on some work. I met my employee at 9:00 and did his quality check (he passed with flying colors.) We finished the QC at 12:30 and decided to have lunch in Waikiki at a great place called "Duke's - Waikiki." My employee had the Baja Fish Tacos and I had the buffet which featured a full salad bar, IslandStyle Fish, Grilled Teriyaki Chicken and Kalua Pork & Cabbage. It was very good.

We drove around the island of Oahu until I had to leave for the airport. (I heard from a higher authority that the picture of me wasn't too scary.)

I caught a 35 minute flight to Kona International Airport on the big Island of Hawaii. At about 10:00pm, I made the flight to Los Angeles and the on to Salt Lake International Airport, where I landed at 10:0am.. I caught a cab home and worked until about 4:00 that afternoon. My son picked me up and we went to dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings. I was up for about 36 hours straight. Needless to say, I slept very deeply.
Bext week, I leave for a week's stay in San Antonio where I hope to make time to visit the famed River Walk.
