What Are We Celebrating Today -- Friday, February 22, 2013?

Today is going to be chaotic....so much to do and so little time. Pher has all kinds of doctor appointments today....and boy do I hope they go well. He can't take much more of this and neither can I.

It's now official. Angela turned in her paperwork, so she will definitely be going to Germany in June 2014. She's paid the Jan, Feb, and March payments so far, and she definitely has enough for April...and I think May. Work for both of us will be starting back up (hopefully), so she'll earn a few bucks.

So...what are we celebrating today..... (and a big Happy Birthday to George Washington!)

1). International World Thinking Day: The original objective of this day was to set aside a day for girls all over the world to think of each other, and to give thanks and appreciation to "sister" Girl Scouts and Girl Guides. Over the years, it has been expanded to include the opportunity for girls (young and less young) to learn about health issues that affect girls and young women. It's celebrated on this day, because it's the birthday of both Lord Baden-Powell founder of the Boy Scouts, and his wife Lady Olave Baden-Powell . Lady Baden-Powell who founded Girl Guides.

2). Walking the Dog Day: I bet your dog is just looking forward to this holiday. LOL. I know mine are....he,he,he. On this day walking with your dog is a must. If you don't have a dog, perhaps you can join a friend while he or she walks their dog.....or you could possibly "walk the dog" with your yo-yo. (I have to be creative). It's raining here, so Lily is out of luck.

3). Margarita Day: While it's a once-a-year occasion for kicking back and enjoying the tequila-based drink, we already seem to be doing a pretty good job. In the U.S., we consume margaritas at the rate of about 185,000 per hour, according to Tequila Herradura, a tequila producer. That's a lot of margaritas! By tonight, I could probably use one...or two...

4). Be Humble Day....so no bragging or boasting today. Don't talk about your accomplishments but compliment others on theirs. I can handle that one today...

Boy I wish there was a good food holiday....something with chocolate maybe....
