Castle starts out with part one of a two-part episode this week. Martha is making Alexis' favorite pancakes as she is missing her granddaughter. Rick is also missing Alexis but they both console each other as a part of letting her go to make it in the world. However, it turns out that Rick's worst nightmare is about to come true.
Of course, there is a murder case to solve first. It involves a guy named Hasim who was shooting at a moving white van as it ran him down. He was found to be the bodyguard hired by a wealthy Middle Eastern businessman to protect his daughter Sarah. As the couple is being interviewed, Rick mentions that he can't imagine what they are going through.
Footage on a video showed Sarah being taken away in the same white van that ran down the bodyguard. He was trying to stop
them from taking Sarah. Kate and Rick head to the hotel where she was last seen. Rick looks at the guest list for the speech that Sarah was attending at the time and finds Alexis' name on it, too. He tries calling his daughter to find out if she knows anything. He is startled to hear her phone ringing in the hotel's lost and found box. It was found outside the hotel at the spot that Sarah was abducted. Rick realizes that Alexis was also taken.
At the station, Kate reassures Rick with a hug and tells him they will find Alexis. Kate told him that she doesn't care if anyone sees them in their embrace. Gates walks in and as Rick is walking away looking distraught, she tells Kate to do whatever it takes to find his little girl. At home, Martha gives her son a pep talk on how she knows that Alexis is going to be okay. Later, he spends time watching Alexis on her vlog. He hears her say that she was going to be at the speech at the hotel. It looks like his fear of revealing too much on the internet should not have been taken lightly. He calls Kate to tell her but Ryan interrupts and says that they found something.
Rick rushes out there to find the back of the van full of blood. Thinking the worst, Kate tries to calm him down. Lanie tested the blood and thankfully it wasn't a match on Alexis.
Flash to Alexis and Sarah waking up inside a creepy room all set with clean clothes, towels and food slipped under the door. They were drugged and have no idea where they are. Alexis realizes that they were meant to stay alive and she goes to work trying to figure out a way to get out of there.
The team identifies the driver of the van and he is holed up with his sister after being shot. Kate got nowhere with the guy so she let Rick have his way with him. The distraught father got the info on the girls after the driver was heard squealing in pain, which Kate ignored.
The police arrive to a deserted farmhouse only to find no young girls, but they do find a dead kidnapper instead. It looks like the girls have been moved.
Alexis finds a way to pick the lock to make their escape. They head in different directions to find a way out. Alexis finds a cell phone to call 911. After that didn't work, she Skypes her dad to try to explain her surroundings, but then she hears footsteps behind her. She leaves the phone on for the team to help find her. Alexis runs out onto the rooftop of the building and looks around. She is confused as she sees...the Eiffel Tower in the distance! At the same time, the team announces that they traced the call but it can't be. Alexis is being held captive in Paris, France!
Guess where Castle is heading to next week? Not only is he determined to find his daughter, but he will also meet his long lost dad! Talk about a family reunion! Stay tuned for part two of this exciting episode next week at 10 p.m. on ABC.
What did you think of Nathan Fillion's performance as a frantic dad willing to do anything it takes to protect his loved ones?
