The bound body of Marisha Cheong was washed up on a Breezy Point beach on Saturday, and the media is now circulating the story rapidly. The Long Island University coed was in her pajamas, and reports indicate that she was tied up either with her hands behind her back or both her hands and ankles bound. This is highly disturbing and could be indicative of something far more than an isolated murder.
Nonetheless, the slain woman's loved ones have a suspect in their minds and that person is Marisha's boyfriend Latchman Balkaran. It needs to be made clear, however, that officials have not declared the man a person of interest or a suspect in the murder of Marisha Cheong.
Was Marisha the victim of a random killing and her boyfriend is being wrongfully accused by her loved ones? Or is he responsible for her death? In time, the investigation will reveal what needs to be known. In the meantime, it's important to keep in mind that nobody has been declared involved in this case. So, while the family calls out the woman's boyfriend, it's possible that someone else could be responsible entirely. However, it's only statistically reasonable to speculate that he might be involved.
