I just got Rosetta Stone, and I was wondering if anyone uses it? I teach Spanish but am not fluent. I know the grammar, read well, but I hang up when it comes to fluency. To me fluent is ease of conversation.
Heard of it.....not from anyone who has personally used it though. We used some program for Spanish in our homeschooling one year that was on on computer cd's but I don't remember the name of the company. I do know that after disc one my daughter got bored.
No, I don't. I'm told it can be a good tool, but it's no substitute for the hard work you need to do to become fluent. Have you considered listening to Spanish podcasts/news reports? That should help with your fluency. I do that for my German when I get inspired to increase my German skills. it's very helpful.
I've been interested in it, but have never seen or know anybody that has tried it. I've thought about trying to 're-learn' everything I have forgotten of a language or two after years/decades of non-use, LOL. Why don't you let us know how it goes and what you think of it later after using it some, bet many others would like to know too. Good luck, and have fun!
Thanks, hope it all goes well. Years ago I had a complete package of the Berlitz method that was part of a course I took, but it was mostly tapes and paper, no computer related material; somewhat expensive too I might add. I loaned it to somebody and never got it back... arrrrgh.
