Because my husband and I were both in school last year, we can claim education credits on our tax returns. But the IRS isn't accepting those types of returns right now.. they won't start accepting them until the 14th. After that who knows how long it will take for us to get the money back.
I was hoping to have the money by the 15th, as hubby's on vacation the week after that. We specifically planned that vacation for that week because we were sure we'd have our taxes back (plus the kids are off school that week) so we were hoping we'd have the funds to actually "do" something with our vacation. We were going to do some painting inside the house, and take the kids to different places maybe. Our last vacation kind of stunk because we had no funds to do anything.
But it looks like we won't have our returns back by then.
It's kind of frustrating how they're doing it this year.
