Hello Gather Friends!
I originally posted this about four years ago, and it still applies, so I'm repeating it after a recent disconnection incident.
And my original post received 85 comments. My guess is this one will be lucky to hit 20 comments, such is the Gather ghost town these days.
Just a note to let you know that you should disconnect from me (or not send me any friend requests) if:
- You think I am mean
- You think I am a "major jerk"
- You don't think I'm entitled to state my opinions
- You don't like my posts or photos
- You habitually publish to everyone, but limit comments to only your 'friends'
- You don't like animals (especially cats)
- You are all full of the "why can't everyone be nice to everyone else all the time?" crap
- You publish nothing but items copied and pasted from internet sites
- You don't like my other friends
- You think I "harass" people
- You are here only for the points
- You want me for a 'friend' solely so I will comment on your 'stuff'
- You think I am a troll
- You don't like my comments
- You are a liar
- You don't have a sense of humor
- You are a racist
- You don't believe in freedom of religion
- You physically or mentally abuse your family or pets
- You are too stupid to live

It does seem as if the Gather activity has slowed down. Connie C.'s last post "What's Happening Today on Gather" stated that Gather has separated from it's parent company Skyword .... don't know what that means. Don't know if this will effect peoples payments since the last few were from Skyword. They have a freeze on membership trying to weed out the spammers and maybe that needs to be lifted so more people could join. Anyway, it's like you suggested, there just doesn't seem to be a lot of activity on Gather any more.
and for 20 there are few here that I wonder how they type and breath at the seam time...LOL

Hey, maybe she should list "please unfriend me if you can't understand certain phrases such as "cogitive dissonance" .... awwwhahahaha. I had to look it up. . . .. Festinger's (1957) cognitive dissonance theory suggests that we have an inner drive to hold all our attitudes and beliefs in harmony and avoid disharmony (or dissonance). . . .
I definitely have holes in my mind .... hey, but I bet I'm happier than most people .....!
I once had a boss say to me "Lee, you are are always happy and always smiling". It made me feel good and I was patting myself on my back as he added, "ever notice that everyone in an insane asylum is always laughing and smiling?" (true story) LOL, Awww hahahaha!

Gotta count me in on this 1~I saved many of his comments in a Yahoo file & re-read them on occasion...
I am missing you and other Gather friends very much, but my classes are tougher this semester and some family issues are going on as well, some good, some not. Don't say anything mean about me, LOL!

I'm one who sometimes practices #5. It wouldn't be necessary if there weren't so many folks here who think their opinions are the only important ones and persons who choose not to debate but to call people names.

I'm sorry but I always do say to my kids that if you don't have nothing nice to say don't say nothing at all.
My husband don't like cats, his father had too many. I like 1 cat I don't like mice so I keep a cat, or kelsey keeps a cat. and she is not a year old and catches mice.
