50 Shades of Grey movie casting talk has gotten a little tedious lately with more the same old reports about why or why not certain stars would make the best Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey, so maybe it's time to mix things up a bit by stopping all the focus on choosing Ana and Christian individually—instead Fifty fans should start picking their perfect couples.
It might seem as though throwing any two fan favorites
together would work for the movie, but not everyone is going to have the right chemistry. For example, Lucy Hale and Chace Crawford might be comfortable together, but maybe the Pretty Little Liars actress would find it awkward to work with Arrow star Stephen Amel (his abs are pretty intimidating). Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey favorites will have to do screen tests to see who works together best.
The IB Times has compiled a list of three different couples that might have the right chemistry for the 50 Shades of Grey movie, and of course it includes real-life couple Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev. However, they probably won't get cast together since Nina said that she doesn't think that it's a good idea for the two of them to play a couple again. Maybe they just spend too much time together since they're love interests in real life and on The Vampire Diaries.
Matt Bomer and Alexis Bledel also made the list, and it's not hard to see why they're a favorite couple—they've been featured together in a few very popular fan-made trailers. However, they might be a little too old to play Christian and Ana since they're both in their thirties.
This leaves Henry Cavill and Emilia Clarke as the best pairing. Henry is closer to being the right age to play Christian than Matt Bomer and Ian Somerhalder, and Emilia is the only actress out of the three on the list who has experience doing nude scenes. The 50 Shades film might even attract a crowd that's made up of more than lusty ladies if they get cast together—what geek wouldn't want to see the worlds of Game of Thrones and Man of Steel collide? Superman and Daenerys Targaryen would certainly make a powerful and pretty pair. And perhaps Henry and Emilia would bond over their shared experience of starring in throne-related TV series—Henry starred in The Tudors, which was about the life of King Henry VIII.
So do you think that Henry Cavill and Emilia Clarke would make the best 50 Shades pair?
