A Song of Summer Love

Balmoral rhymes with coral
Yet no corals in this balmy sea
Where young and old alike
Enjoy the summer sea delight
Oh love, sweet summer love
A sea so mild and blue
Just like the French Riviera
Watch out, young carefree men
A topless siren there is too
Oh love, sweet summer love
She sings her song of charm
To lure your sharpened senses
“Come on and swim with me
In the bright blue balmy sea”
Oh love, sweet summer love
They can’t resist a call so sweet
In they jump and one by one
Dive down to depths to them unknown
Forgetting fast they ever stood on feet
Oh love, sweet summer love
And according to hearsay
They grew sick of deep sea play
Up they came, hold your breath
As bluebottles, those that sting
Oh love, sweet summer love
Out of water, come on kids
Let’s build castles in the sand
Until the stinging jelly fleet
Has sailed for other seas and land
Oh love, sweet summer love
The moral of Balmoral
Where there is no coral
Be wary of that sea so blue and deep
The lurking sting might make you weep
Oh love, sweet summer love
P.S., Susan, this is not the Chant Poem with a borrowed line – I’m still working on that one.
Pam, I do hope you’re feeling warmer now.
Len, just to remind you that February is a summer month Down Under.

After 63 hours without power, electricity was restored a little while ago. One of the nights without power meant no heating at all ... it was like sleeping on an icy slab in a morgue. Bitterly cold! But aside from that, I actually enjoyed the blizzard experience - one not to be repeated in a hurry, I hasten to add.
In eight days time I fly back to Perth, Western Australia, where a blistering heatwave awaits. It is going from the freezer to the furnace. LOL
Oh love, sweet summer love!
How true - heat I can handle.
