Once a legend was fulfilled; my mother the sun, my sister the warrior, and I the key. I was in awe of my sibling for she was everything I was not – it was as if she were dragon born with emerald orbs and breath of fire. Yes, I had my talents but they had to remain hidden. I was an imprisoned chick who could only attempt to crack my exterior shell. Although mother was afraid of me, sister was not. While sleeping on our shared mattress she was confident of being able to slay the beast I might become. She sang softly. As key it had been demonstrated both demons and angels knew my name. Mother always had our bags packed for a midnight escape.
Painfully I never told my sister a hidden truth, even as she lay dying; fact is I am the warrior and she was the key.

PROMPT BY TRACY FABRE
I just read an article by Mark O'Connell about whether Amanda McKittrick Ros was the worst novelistin history and was amused (and/or horrified) by this passage:
One thing that is clear about Ros’ prose is its aversion to calling a thing by its name. Eyes are “globes of glare.†When their owners are unhappy, these globes are “stuffed with sorrow.†Trousers are not trousers; they are “the southern necessary.â€
Please describe a person or object without naming it specifically--
"globes of glare,"Â NOT "eyes"
"square slice of baked wheat,"Â NOT "bread"
"metal traveling contraption,"Â NOT "car"
Here are some completely optional suggestions to (NOT) use ~
eyes
eggs
armadillo (hey... I hardly EVER mention them anymore)
suitcase
spaghetti
computer
bed
And because you'll need more words to play with, you can go up to 150!
Go!
