Did the NFL trot out Newtown survivors with the zero mention of massacre?

somebody clue me in on this, I did not actually watch the Super Bowl. but I am hearing today that some of the fresh faced survivors of Newtown were paraded like cute puppies, without any mention of the 20 who died.

a bit ironic? In view of the recent case of the NFL player who slaughtered his girlfriend then blew his brains out in front of his coaches.

I believe there was a group of students who sang America the Beautiful. It was a tribute to the fallen children.

It was the Sandy Hook school choir (they looked like fifth and sixth graders).

Maybe the organizers meant well, but it felt like a too-conscious attempt to tug the heartstrings.
