Pizza!

I had a Jiffy box of pizza crust mix, and sausage was on sale one night, and so was pasta sauce. Well, that all let to one thought in my mind-- homemade pizza!

I squished the sausage meat out of its casings (gross!) and cooked it up while Scott mixed up the dough.

When it was ready and spread out on the pan, it got pre-cooked for a few minutes. Then we added the sauce, cheese (we used cheddar, didn't have anything else) and then the sausage crumbles on top.

Cooked it up, and it was so tasty! Granted, it was a little floppy and I should have pre-cooked the crust for longer, but now I know for the future!

Looks really good! I made homemade pizza tonight for the boys while they waited for the Superbowl to start. I made pepperoni, pepperoni and ham, and a supreme. Then made a stuffed crust pepperoni as a second thought. It was awesome. I would have added sausage to my supreme but didn't think of it. Thanks for sharing!

If you can find the frozen dough, it works much better than the mix. I let it thaw then rise for an hour in a bowl with a little olive oil. Its hard to find sometimes.

That looks really good to me!
Yeah, I hate squishing sausage out of the casings. It's something ya just want to get past and forget about. ;-p

now for me the trick to the jiff mix crust is I do not prebake it but it takes to boxes for a decent size crust. I made a home made pizza the other day with stir fried veggies and fresh roma tomatoes. nothing is better than home made. wish they liked sausage on it here that looks so good

It doesn't get soggy or floppy without the prebaking? I think my sauce maybe was on the liquidy side, because my crust definitely could have been crispier...

And yes, there is a Dollar Tree up here. I'll have to stop there-- maybe tonight after work!

nope we never prebake...but i alway bake in a good hot oven its 450 when i first put the pizza in and then turn it down to 425. now they have two type of peperoni on sale usually armor is in the fridge and you get a better deal with getting it over the Hormel they carry but I buy both because i like the different flavors
