'50 Shades of Grey' Movie: BDSM Dabbler James Deen Wants Christian Grey Role

50 Shades of Grey movie favorite Ian Somerhalder better watch out—he might look like the perfect Christian Grey, but he doesn't have BDSM experience like James Deen.

Deen is an adult movie star who is trying to do more mainstream movies. His recent film The Canyons is getting a lot of buzz, but unfortunately it's for all the wrong reasons—film festivals won't show it, and it stars the train wreck that is Lindsay Lohan.

However, Deen isn't giving up on becoming a mainstream movie star, and he knows what role would help him smoothly make the transition from adult films to box office blockbusters.

Screenwriter Kelly Marcel denied reports that the 50 Shades of Grey movie is aiming for an NC-17 rating, but if it does end up being full of full frontal nudity and sex scenes that are too racy for an R rating, then a guy like James Deen could actually have a shot at scoring the role of Christian Grey. He's comfortable showing off all of his body, and his experience having real sex in front of a camera could help him make the fake sex scenes in 50 Shades look more realistic.

According to the IB Times, James says that it would be "really cool" to play Christian Grey. He also thinks he has a lot in common with Christian, saying of the character, "I feel like I could easily play him because there is a lot of me in there."

He went on to elaborate, "I feel like I get [talked about in relation] to Christian Grey because I'm a fun-loving guy who has this dark passionate side. Plus, I dabble in BDSM [aka bondage, discipline, sadism, and masochism] regularly, so I think I could really play that part well."

So James knows the proper flogging technique and how to properly bind wrists and ankles. This is very important since Fifty fans don't want their fantasy ruined by an amateur fumbling around with Christian's handcuffs and cable ties.

James did survive working with Lindsay Lohan, and he comes off as being a good-natured guy who enjoys making movies, whether they call him to have real sex or not. So who knows? Maybe he'll charm his way into winning the role of Christian Grey.
