Beyonce's miscarriage is among the topics covered in her upcoming HBO documentary. Life is But A Dream features the high and low points of the singer's life and the miscarriage ranks in the latter category. She says it was the 'saddest thing' she has ever experienced.
According to a report from The Huffington Post, even though the former Destiny's Child singer has led a charmed life, she isn't immune to tragedy. Hubby Jay-Z referenced the miscarriage in the lyrics of a song after their baby Blue Ivy was born.
"Last time the miscarriage was so tragic/We was afraid you'd disappear/But nah baby you magic," he rapped in his song Glory.
This
is the very first time Beyonce has mentioned the loss.
"About two years ago, I was pregnant for the first time. And I heard the heartbeat, which was the most beautiful music I ever heard in my life," she says in the documentary."I envisioned what my child would look like ... I was feeling very maternal."
During a subsequent checkup she learned that her baby's heart was no longer beating.
"I went into the studio and wrote the saddest song I've ever written in my life ... And it was the best form of therapy for me, because it was the saddest thing I've ever been through," she says.
Fortunately for both Beyonce and Jay-Z, the couple went on to have a beautiful little baby girl named Blue Ivy, who is clearly the light of their lives. And the documentary highlights their joy as well as their sorrow. Sources say the singer--who is set to perform at Sunday's Super Bowl--gets even more personal about various aspects of her life.
Will you check out Life is But A Dream on HBO on February 16th? Are you surprised and sadden to hear the awful news about Beyonce's miscarriage?
