Cedar Park, Texas is currently my hometown. A small city-town, it is one of the communities which comprises the greater Austin area. Austin, Texas is the state capital; and this community is about a 30-minute commute. The city's economic development representatives invited IBM (over a decade ago) to relocate their business to Austin, Texas. IBM indicated that in order to accept the invitation they would need a place to relocate their employees along with their families. Thus, Cedar Park was incorporated in 1973. By 2015, it is projected that the population will reach approximately 65,000.
