A grand jury opted to indict John and Patsy Ramsey for JonBenet's murder in 1999; however, the District Attorney wouldn't prosecute, according to new information on the case.
At the time, Boulder District Attorney Alex Hunter said, "We do not have sufficient evidence to warrant a filing of charges against anyone who has been investigated at this time." Unbeknownst to everyone else, the grand jury had just voted to indict the parents of the child beauty queen. According to grand jury members, John and Patsy either directly caused their 6-year-old daughter's death, or allowed her to perish through negligence. Look, anyone who followed this awful case, could sense there was something strange about John and Patsy Ramsey. That doesn't mean they are murderers, but obviously the Boulder police completely screwed up this investigation from start to finish. It's such a horrific injustice, to learn that the DA could have indicted on the charge of "child abuse leading to death," but chose instead not to. Why not? Don't you agree he should answer for this?
Hunter left the office just a couple of years later. He's still alive, but refused to comment in a meaningful way about the JonBenet Ramsey disappearance. Last week, he released a vaguely worded statement in legalese, basically defending his decision. Hunter should be called to account for this, and forced to explain why he didn't notify the public about the grand jury's findings at the time.
