Adam Lambert has just announced that he is donating his 31st birthday to "We Are Family Foundation" and is asking his fans, friends and family to donate to the cause. On Saturday night Adam tweeted, "Glamily! I'm so proud to partner with @WeAreFamilyFdtn for my birthday this year & help empower teens everywhere! http://j.mp/VoVZ8Z"
We Are Family Foundation's initiatives empower youth around the globe to help make the world a better place. Adam is being honored by the organization next week as the recipient of their "Unity Award" at their 2012 Celebration Gala 2.0. The award "honors a person in the public eye who has made tremendous efforts and inroads into making the human condition better around the world through their work as an artist."
Adam has already shown that he can empower youth, as evidenced by his "It Gets Better Video," and affiliations with organizations such as The Trevor Project, FCKH8, and Friend Movement.
Adam's birthday announcement is sure to generate a lot of money for We Are Family Foundation. In addition to helping a worthy cause, there are incentives for people to make a donation for his birthday. People who give $31 or more will have the opportunity to upload a 10 second video birthday message that will be added to the "World's Biggest Birthday Card" for Adam. For those who cannot afford that much, if you donate any amount less than $31 you can sign the birthday card.
Adam started donating his birthday to charity two years ago and it was a huge success. He donated his 29th and 30th birthdays to the Charity: Water organization and raised a total of more than $400,000. Hopefully he can inspire the same amount of giving for We Are Family Foundation this year. To donate to the cause, go to Adam's birthday donation website.
Have you donated to We Are Family Foundation in honor of Adam's birthday?
