I'm very excited! I passed the American Council for Exercise Certified Personal Trainer exam! First try! I was worried a lot about this one because it was three hours long for a reason and has a high failure rate. I passed the Certified Fraud Examiner, Physical Security Professional and Certified Protection Professional credentials and never worried about passing a certification exam but this one was different; I was even up to 2 AM studying after tossing and turning most of the night. The ACE exam has a very high failure rate!
While I was taking the test I was knocking down the questions one at a time and was wondering 'When does the hard part come? "
ACE Certs are accredited by National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).
I love to exercise and workout, so the next logical progression to me is to show others that may want to get a little healthier or lose a few pounds. I studied for a total of little over six months often spending multiple hours in the library hitting the exam material and working full time.
There were 4 test domains and the results are as follows:
Client Interview and Assessment- 80%
Program Design and Implementation- 65%
Program Progressions and Modifications- 72%
Professional Conduct, Safety and Risk Management- 92%
What's next? I don't know but I'm thinking about specializing in special need exercise populations, diabetes, asthma, cardiac but that's a little way down the road. Let's call this one Done! Finally!
