Tonight I have to go to bed early for me, since we have to get up at 7 AM tomorrow. We are headed for a six-hour training workshop at the San Luis Obispo Country Club. No, it's not golf lessons. It's politics. We will see presentations on how our local government works, how UN Agenda 21 is being implemented on the local level, and how to fight it. Three hours in the morning will be devoted to learning how to be politically active at the local level -- how to speak at public meetings and what to do when the Delphi Technique is employed to try to manipulate people into a consensus wanted by a local government where a hearing is considered but a formality.

I have put a picture of where we will be holding the meeting, above. I took it during a break at a similar workshop last July. My husband wasn't able to attend with me then, and I thought it was valuable enough to merit his time and mine again tomorrow. It's more expensive than we can really afford, but a good lunch will be included -- tri-tip sandwiches, potato salad, and a wonderful chocolate cake. I expect there will also be some sort of green salad or vegetable. I'm forgetting my diet tomorrow.
After the workshop, we will go to Costco, as we normally do when we are in San Luis Obispo, which is thirty miles south of where we live. We try to do all our errands in the area when we are there, since gas is expensive. I'm hoping the sun will be out tomorrow. We did see it for a bit today. But I expect we won't be back home until seven or eight, and I doubt if I'll have much computer time tomorrow night. So please be patient if I don't reply to comments right away. In another hour, I'll have to go to bed to be able to get up early tomorrow morning.
Are you at all active in local politics? What are your feelings about your city adopting the goals of U.N. Agenda 21?
