Miley Cyrus recently tweeted a bizarre message about tampon eating that probably left some of her fans wondering what in the world she was referencing.
Here's the tweet in question:
"seriously so sick of that sh*t filling up my timeline. Don't @ me if you're even gonna mention that tamponeating sh*t. Definition of RATCHET."
According to The Stir, Miley recently found herself defending her thin frame after tweeting, "I now remember why I never eat p
izza. It makes me feel like sh*t. #glutenized." Apparently fans were quick to speculate that Miley doesn't eat pizza because she has an eating disorder, because the starlet later wrote, "Let me clarify 'sh*t' wasn't meaning 'fat' I mean sick. Because gluten is poisoning me. Your stomach has a brain too & it hates SH*T food."
But was Miley Cyrus' tampon eating tweet an angry response to mean internet bullies who still think that she has an eating disorder? Were they telling her that she just needs to start filling up on the feminine hygiene products?
Nope—Miley was just tired of seeing tweets about a teen girl named Giovanna Plowman.
Giovanna is the star of a disgusting viral video. She was so desperate to gain internet fame that she stuck a used tampon in her mouth and posted a video of the stomach-churning act on the web.
The "tampon girl" then started tweeting furiously about how her video went viral, and Miley isn't the only star who has mentioned it. Nickelodeon actress Arianna Grande tweeted to the teen, "Giovanna Plowman. Girl what is wrong witchu." Of course all this celebrity attention is just going to make the tampon girl even more famous.
Giovanna has already claimed that she's going to appear on the Comedy Central show Tosh.0, but it's hard to imagine what kind of web redemption Daniel Tosh will come up with for her—maybe he'll just have her dip a tampon in ketchup or something.
It's sad that people can get "famous" on the internet and on shows like Tosh.0 for doing things that are degrading and disgusting—it's like the world is becoming a real-life version of the John Waters movie Pink Flamingos. That disturbing film is about people who compete to be the filthiest person in the world, and it ends with a character eating dog feces. The reality show Fear Factor actually had contestants drink donkey semen, so there are clearly a lot of people out there who are willing to do similarly-disgusting things in real life. But at least those contestants had a chance at winning money.
The next time Miley feels tempted by a slice of pizza, maybe she just needs to think about Giovanna's sick stunt.
