Thank you for such a sweet comment. My goal was to do a better job and get more active at doing just that beginning in Jan but between internet outages and life, I have not done as well as I had hoped.
I have missed you. You have not been on here much for a long time. Are you ok?
How is Shannon and the grand-kids?
Are you still drawing horses?
I hope you get your computer fixed soon. Do you know what is wrong with your computer?
In my case, my computer was worn out and it was cheaper to get a new one than to have mine repaired.
The down side is that I hate Windows 8. I mean I hate it with a passion!
Glad you got the van fixed. You were lucky that the van was under warranty. What was wrong with it?
How are you and Janet doing?
I absolutely LOVE the bitterly cold weather! We've had wind chills of -20 to -30........and I've been out in them, shoveling sidewalks!!!!! Wow, it was so incredible......the brisk winds hitting my face......I was so totally energized......never felt soooo alive and great in my life as I did those days.....I not only shoveled our sidewalk but did our neighbor guy's as well (he works during the day).....it was so incredible, Connie, when I finished shoveling, I did NOT "huff and puff" like I used to.....my weight loss green coffee bean pills are truly working! I actually felt like I was on a "natural high," being out in the blistery cold winds!!!!! Then, I came indoors and had more energy than ever, and cleaned/decluttered for 3 solid hours! I absolutely LOVE this weather!!!!! It's made me feel like a brand new person!!!!!
Sunday, however, we're supposed to be getting freezing rain, starting about 3:00 a.m. and going through early afternoon........we'll probably stay home and not attempt church!
That just breaks my heart. It has been so cold across the country that nobody could survive long or without frost bite in these temperatures.
We had a nice day today and are supposed to tomorrow but for some reason, my thoughts have been on the homeless lately. I with I could afford to see that nobody was without shelter in our country.
Too much of our countries money is going overseas when we have people who are without food and shelter.
I have never heard of green coffee pills. Is it new?
The green coffee bean extract pills aren't new.........Dr. Oz has had three programs on them.......that's how I got started, as I hate putting "pills" into my body, unless they're healthy ones, like vitamins, etc.! They are really helping me, and I feel great!
I think we may have to run to one of the grocery stores to get some extra food, "just in case."
I don't really watch much TV. I am glad you are getting more energy and feeling better.
You know something, it makes me angry that the news does not shed some light on the homeless. I mean if there was some political scandal, they would feel the news with people sharing their opinion and interviews but thy don't have the time or energy to interview the homeless to make communities more aware of the problem.
We all try to help people when we can but how do we help everyone?
It is good to see you. Your icon looks so cheery and . . . what is he word I am looking for. . . not wintery. LOL
Sure do. I always keep some on hand. With all the snow we have gotten lately. It sounds like time to get a cup and warm up.
What is the weather doing there?
Snowing, cold, wet...beautiful
Is there a homeless shelter in your area that keeps the homeless from being exposed to the elements this time of year?
Yes, we have homeless shelter. Several in our area. But they do not house very many people. A few years ago when I found myself homeless with kids. They had no open spots. I was turned. I was lucky there was no snow on the ground then. I feel for those who are homeless now and get turned away. That is why I have allowed so many people/friends stay with me through the years.
I forgot to add the word away after turned.
I heard that there is a homeless shelter here. For some reason, my mind has been on the homeless lately. As you know, we moved because my husband's job closed down. If he had not found a job, we may have been one of those homeless.
We are one of the lucky ones.
You are such a sweet Spirit. It is because of people like you that makes this world such a great place. Thank you for taking care of those who need a home.
I am sorry you were homeless.
It was crazy when I first moved back to Ohio. It took me 8 months to get my own place with my kids. As I had no money, not a penny to my name. I just moved last moth for the first time of getting my own place. A little and much better.....an upgrade if you will. Started in a trailer, now in house. Love it no more climbing up stairs to get in my home.
It is so good to see you. I am in hopes that I can sorta catch up with WE group early next week. I just keep getting farther behind.
I set a goal for myself to work on getting the gather community closer knit this year. Jan was my target date but Jan is nearly gone and I have not been able to reach that goal. I couldn't log into gather for a long time and it drove me crazy. How are you?
Did you ever make it to Black Water Falls State Park? You were talking about it after reading my photo essay on it a few years ago.
Nope, I never made it to the park; I'm thinking most of my traveling days are over, but maybe...
Maybe your son will come and take you camping this winter. :)
Kid's off on another adventure and I might not see him for four months so my only camping will be in the back yard.
I always enjoy Johns stories. He is doing an amazing job filling in for Andrea too.
By the way, she text me an updated photo of the baby. She is so cute and growing like a weed too. I was surprised at just how big she has gotten. Andrea had her all bundled up in a winter bag thingy. LOL
You do deserve the spotlight and you are very welcome. Thank you for all you do in the gather community.
How are you and Roger doing? Have a great night! :)
Stay warm Connie ..... don't venture out unless you have to. I had to smile when you said that you only had a small couch in your living room because on one time in my life that was all I had in my living room. So many years ago that I had forgotten about it until your comment. Actually I think I liked it .... LOL .... it sure made house cleaning an easy chore. LOL!
Thank you for your time and efforts Connie. You're the best! Woo Hoo!
Stay warm!
I do have Hot Chocolate and marshmellows, so this will Help. :)
Thank-You for all you do in the 'Gather Community'.!~
And, I also appreciate you spotlighting my posts.
