Question about Deleting Gather Drafts

I see that some of my recent published posts with comments on them are still listed as drafts after I have published them. If I click "delete draft," a warning pops up asking if I want to delete this post. I don't want to delete the post, but I do want to delete the draft, since I have at least three of these drafts that have been published and commented on. When I see the warning, though, I'm afraid to go ahead and delete, in case it might delete the actual post. Anyone have experience with this and advice?

Yahoo? I'm on Gather, using Chrome most of the time, on an iMAC .

I know I've some I never finished in draft mode, but I thought once something is finished and published, it leaves draft mode. Maybe I should open the draft and see if it's the same as the published version, and if not, delete it.

I don't know. You should be able to delete them.

I don't drafts can't help you

I do drafts if I'm afraid something I started my disappear into cyberspace before I finish it. Then when I've edited, and I'm happy, I submit it for real. At that point in time it's supposed to leave draft mode. The only thing I can think of is that maybe something I started, like a photo essay, the one about the Walking in the Irish Hills I posted recently, which also exists in the drafts, was saved in draft mode while I was adding the pictures.
