Best. Ever.
Provides a silky finish to your complexion
Minimizes pores
And fine lines

Vintage 1951, this afternoon.
Prep: Washed face with lemon soap, rinsed and dried.
Applied Nivea, patted dry.
Applied lemon body butter, patted dry. Soaked excess up with tissue.
Applied Maybelline ivory coverstick around eyes, cheeks, face and blended in.
Applied L'Oreal True Match, patted dry. Blended with fingers.
Applied eyebrow pencil, white eye shadow, and liquid black eyeliner, lip liner, lip stick and lip gloss.
Drum roll please: Then, the Sephora translucent powder ($14), one shade. Apply with finger tips and blend.
Sil --- kee.
If you look closely -- you can see fine crystals of the Sephora translucent powder. This product is truly amazing. MAC has the same for $28.
Translucent powder is a sheer facial powder to set makeup, not to cover or add color. You can also used it to control shine and give your complexion a matte finish. Apply translucent powder with a large powder brush, brushing lightly all over your face. You can use smaller amounts, as I have, by dipping your finger tips into the powder and applying.

Sephora is in the larger malls. It is a French cosmetics company. For $14, it is an excellent deal.
NARS line Orgasm blush shade.
You can probably get it online, too, if you can't find it,
Sephora is in 1,700 stores and 27 countries.
HUGS ~:)
I think you might be surprised.
It also reduces pore size and fine lines !!!!!!!!
what more could a girl want? Chocolate, kitties, warm blankets, movies, chocolate, wine, bubble bath......
You, Kathryn, have a naturally beautiful complexion! The sparkel just adds a tech to your own!
I do have wrinkles, but not many. About the same as my sister who is 6 years younger and her skin is drier.
When I get bored or want to moisturize, I use Bath & Body Work's Sea Island Cotton, or Paris Amour, or Citrus Breeze, or Lime Cocoanut, or The Body Shop (thicker) Cocoa Butter or Cocoanut, or Nivea reg, Nivea soft, or Vaseline.
When I get too greasy, I wash my face with lemon soap.
And start over.
On days I don't wear makeup, I am doing this in between my online work.
Complexion care is one of the greatest things ever for a woman.

Soap & water
Pat dry
Let it dry and go about my day
If I am getting ready to go out then:
Let it dry some more on it's own for about 10 minutes while I do something else
A light patting with a dry sponge of Japanese brand Shiseido powder
For many years I used Oil of Olay moisturizer but living here where its so humid I find I don't need it any longer
I barely ever use any makeup that you can call 'makeup'
;-)
For a long tine, Nivea was the only creme that didn't make my skin itch. Oil of Olay did at one time, but many swear by it.
In Montreal, I used to put on a layer of vaseline on my face before swimning or skiing to protect against chlorine and wind, respectively.
Shisheido is excellent!
Guys have football. What do women have?
Makeup?
NOooo. Women have manipulation,. Guys establish dominance through football and women establish dominance over each other via sneaky, mean-girl manipulation.
But of course, I said, mascara is how we manipulate guys. He groaned. Then I put on my makeup and gave him the 'eye.'
Bravo!
But even N Hampshire and MA pales in comparison to Utah, now one of the hottest or the hottest ??? ski resorts in the West.
Yeah, French makeup I would think is not in your ken.
:)
I stopped using compacdts 25 years ago because they do bring out lines. However, the translucent powder is very different. It is almost microscopicaly fine. Makes compacts look like boulder powder.
I was hesitant to use it, but when I saw that it actually minimizes instead of bringing out lines == I was ecstatic!
I know what my heroine will be using for makeup!!!
And my heroine will smell like fresh cotton;the hero like lime; the rooms like fresh lemon, all are some of the body butters I use.
I will have to try the bare minerals.
I find that with the sephora, if I look too dry, I dab a tiny bit of moisturizer, body butter by bath and body shop, and blend and it is perfect.
They are thick. It is nore expensive than The Bath and Body Shop, which has delisou scents - Sea Island Cotton; Citrus; Lime Coconut; Paris Amour (smells like soft cologne?) Dark Lillies (They also have Japanese Cherry Blossom and Midnight Pomegranate and Black Amythyst, I've been using them for 4 years - also Warm Vanilla that my daughter likes.
I like to make an oatmeal and brown sugar scrub.
I use olive oil wraps on my hair and olive oil on my face once a week.
Great post, Kathryn. I love to see what other women are doing for their routine.
