What Are We Celebrating Today -- Tuesday, January 22, 2013?

Yesterday was pretty uneventful. I don't know what was wrong, but by 3 pm I couldn't keep my eyes open. Angela had been practising putting my hair up in the competition style for the year when it was like I hit a brick wall. I laid back and fell asleep for almost 2 hrs. Yikes!

So...what are we celebrating....

1). National Blonde Brownie Day: Yum! I really like food holidays! What's a blonde brownie, you ask? Well, as their name implies, traditional brownies are a dark brown. To make blonde brownies, light brown sugar is used in the recipe in place of dark brown chocolate. To me, they are more like cookie bars, not brownies.

2). Answer Your Cat's Questions Day: If a cat decided to ask me a question, my first reaction would be, "Holy Crap ,a talking cat." Hey Sassy, let me know what Rocky and Beau asked you. I guess this one is suppose to be more of....take a look at your cat and see what he wants to know?

3). Rid the World of Fads Diets and Gimmicks Day: Tired of being bombarded with bogus "diet tricks" ads on every website you visit? Does that ubiquitous "5 tips for a flat belly" sidebar on Facebook make you want to tear your hair out? This is the day to get rid of 'em...though I'm not sure how.

I may make some blonde brownies or maybe some cookie bars today....I really want some sort of oatmeal scotchie cookie bar. I've been looking for a good recipe and haven't found one. Mike's mom won't give me the recipie for the chocoate oatmeal bars she makes....
