Even though the Atlanta Hawks are a respectable 22-17 and are currently holding the sixth spot in the Eastern Conference, their star player Josh Smith is still giving the team reason to worry. Smith was reportedly kicked out of practice a few days ago and as a result was suspended for a game, in which the reason was described to be "conduct detrimental to the team."

For that reason, many around the NBA are speculating that the Hawks will try to trade Smith before the NBA's trade deadline rolls around. One of the teams that could look to deal for Smith are the Boston Celtics. The Celtics have been struggling and currently hold the eight seed in the East and are looking to make some changes. The Celtics could send Jeff Green and Courtney Lee to the Hawks for Smith. The Celtics could throw in some draft picks as well.
When the Hawks traded away their best player in Joe Johnson this past off-season, it was clear that they were going into rebuilding mode. Trading away Smith for young pieces and draft picks may be the right move in trying to rebuild this franchise once again. Let's see if the Hawks pull the trigger on Smith.

Never happen!
Lee and Green are mediocre players.
Would love to see Smith in a Celtics uniform--but Atlanta would be crazy to unload him for those two, even if picks go with it....
