As the title states, humans can be dumb. the topic is global warming, by the way. Humans can be dumb, -or maybe do not have great memories? Flowering plants on the other hand- those are not intellectually bright in the classic sense of the word. but they have a great ability to notice heat and cold. and many of them are blossoming around 20 days before the time of year that they used to back when Henry Thoreau hung out by Walden Pond and took notes on when plants were blossoming.

not the only good reason to read "Walden.". :)

There is quite a bit of research showing the changes in the biomes, with the ranges of more southern species slowly migrating northward in response to the changing climate. And that is what is already happening; it will increase as the planet continues to warm.

Luckily for honest humans, the denialists are getting so ridiculous in their denials and so blatant in their dishonesty that they have zero credibility anymore. That won't stop them from denying science, showing their profound ignorance, and being dishonest, but it will make them lose any smidgen of credibility they (incorrectly) thought they had.

We have magnolia trees here in MN where they never used to grow this far north, but I think that it is due primarily to hybrid growing of trees that are more cold-resistant.

Isn't there a winter sled dog race in northern MN that has had to be cancelled in recent years because of warm weather? Or am I thinking of Michigan?

Yes, it's the John Beargrease sled dog marathon races in Duluth, & this year, as has happened in the past, it has been postponed to March 10th due to poor snow conditions. It sounds like we live in the wilderness, but we really don't, LOL.
