The NRA is really taking a stance on gun control in America and in doing so they are pulling two young girls into the ruckus, which really isn't fair to them.
Apparently, the National Rifle Association will try anything to get their message out and that includes using President Obama's two daughters, Sasha and Malia Obama.
In a new ad the organization says :
"Are the president's kids more important than yours? Then why is he skeptical about putting armed security in our schools when his kids are protected by armed guards at their school? Mr. Obama demands the wealthy pay their fair share of taxes, but he's just another elitist hypocrite when it comes to a fair share of security."
Obviously, there are some major differences between the President's kids and the average American child. Sasha and Malia are more of a target because they are in the public eye, thus the armed guards. They are the President's kids for goodness sake, it's ridiculous to even bring them into the controversy over gun control!
Overall the ad just makes the NRA look stupid and though it's understandable that they are trying to make a point in the midst of the anti-gun backlash recently, they should try to make their point another way.

You phony "liberals" made it what it is today...
Three million strong and growing...
strengthened by the hate you are sowing...
Tee Hee...if you want to know what makes the NRA strong, look in the mirror...
"I carry a gun because I am too old to take an ass whipping...
Also, it doesn't seem to bother you that this is not an attack on the president's kids...it is an attack on him for being the kind of hypocrite that puts his kids in a school guarded by men with guns but denies that right to the rest of us. He is a phony and an elitist and you hyperbole and hysteria as evidenced in this post are an evasion of the real issue...
If it is ok for the prez to put his kids in a private school with armed guards, why is it such a horrible idea for the rest of us...
Shades of Rosie O' Donnell...another hypocrite "liberal"...
And the rest of your "yes men" make me want to puke...
This is the same group who in 2008 advertised that if he was elected he would try to get rid of guns and ammo, at leaset raised the prices by several hundred percent. The weekend after election in 08 Gun and Ammo sales skyrocketed over that first weekend topping in most cases their average yearly amount of sales. And he did not raise prices, deal with any gun legislation or raise taxes on them. When a business, or a large national organization that supports the people who sale the product they promote.....don't go blindly, get some facts.
Does a budget exist that would allow the schools, all schools to hire trained or then train super security SWAT type teams on campus daily?
Do I understand this issue correctly? The NRA is being demonized and eye-scratched for doing ... almost the same thing the POTUS did today to further his own agenda?

Obama had 4 little kids on the stage...he read letters from little kids...and now, suddenly, "exploiting kids" is not right...do you people ever think about what you say???
Ahh.. so the president's children and his own parental rights are a priority and a necessity when simply referring to his children in question form; however, the same privilege is not extended to the rest of us even in regard to issues and situations involving actual disregard of parental authority and of much more import?: In light of the above intrusions between parents and their offspring (only examples and not an exhaustive list) I'd say the NRA's so-called transgression in this instance is so far down the list of transgressions as to be no transgression at all.

Was it those four kids that wrote the letters? If it was and their parents approved, there is no exploitation. I doubt very much that the NRA talked to the Obamas before using their children.
That's too bad.
If Obama wanted his kids out of the line of fire, he should have gotten a real job...
Because his focus is on our kids. He did a big no no.
You see rf, his two are not better than ours. Maybe in his mind they are.

Why did they focus on the two little Obama girls?
Because his focus is on our kids. He did a big no no.

Hello................Can you say Obama?
Just sayin'. Mr. LaPierre already said that if we thought it was crazy to put armed guards in schools, then 'call me crazy'.
I have had absolutely no trouble at all complying with that request.
Thanks for listening to my 'moment of snark'.
Attacks? Not quite. It's not an attack on the girls at all. The ad asks a question. A valid question in regard to the president's priorities.
Honestly, the prez ought to feel like his own children are more important. But he ought not to think they actually are more important than ours.
Yes, yes they are more high profile than most ... and I don't begrudge them whatever protection the law allows and their exposure demands and/or Obama's own pocket can support.
But one would think the NRA had suggested that all the first born should be dropped into the nearest volcano in the hopes that would appease the god of guns and war, instead of what they actually did which was, ask a legitimate question putting it into a context even the prez might understand. An example. No attack or insult or nastiness involved at all. Just a question asked of a public servant in a way that might help him see it from an average citizen's pov.
Oh yadda yada R.F. ...
The Obama girls are safer than any other girls in the world ... if everyone up there is doing their jobs.
And your comments prove my own assessment of the situation which went something like this...Further, as I noted in previous comment, in light of the following governmental encroachments between parents and their offspring (only examples and not an exhaustive list) I'd say the NRA's so-called transgression in this instance is so far down the list of transgressions as to be no transgression at all.

It's a matter for local boards of education. Do you think it's a federal issue? Any local BOE can hire armed guards if they want to. There are no laws I know of against that. The NRA is trying to pimp out the Obama girls and that's all there is to it. They are putting those girls in more danger than they already have to live with. The NRA attack is exactly what we should expect from thugs like them.
