good morning all i made 10 points yesterday hope to do better today by now i should have been up to $10 but only have 474 because i haven't been on much will try to be on all day i hope how are your points doing have a good day

I'm at 581, I am getting 1 to 5 a day, but its slow going, because I'm not here that much...when I do get on here, I respond some, post very little posts, and put up a few pictures, I do more commenting and viewing than anything.....I just don't have much to post about.

with that being said, I hope you get your points for cash out, I remember when I was getting close to 10.00 a month here, especially come march I won't have as much time, and if I get involved in the elections for 2014 all bets are off on my being here much at all again.

I think a lot of us are a long way off, maybe things will boost when they are sure spammers aren't out in full force, but its also a sign of the times and the economy, and how hard it is to get advertising and money to pay us as well.......The perks are nice, but I'm not here enough to even consider the perks more than the friendships.

Well Lena, we don't make anything for the points we accumulate, on this side of the pond.
I have amassed 116 since I joined Gather, so it's probably a good thing.
I do try to recommend or comment on posts by my friends, I assume this helps you get points. Good luck.

Barbara: Another idea is to simply keep accumulating your points and eventually you may be able to cash them out there. We travel Europe and Asia extensively on a regular basis. It used to be that when we traveled, I was not able to log into Gather. So now, that Gather is usable in a handful of countries now it can only be a good sign of things to come. Hang in there.

Perhaps you could always cashout to PayPal and use it for shopping online. Have you contacted Gather to see what options you have?

I ex[ect I will have to ask eventually but it will be sometime before I have enough points to make anything. I get monthly updates which tell me how many hundreds I still need to reach any targets. I too expect that, eventually, we will be included in the cash exchange although I do like the Paypal idea, I buy lots of things online and have started using Paypal rather than my debit or credit cards.

45 in a day??? What do you do to get that many??? Do you, or anyone else who makes that many, ever actually read anything? Or do you simply open something and put a random comment on it and move on? I don't get it. I think I get something like 1 point per hour that I'm here. I admit I'm a slow reader and I do read what I comment on but still.. I think the most I ever got in one day was 20 points and I was on practically all day, posting, commenting, putting photos on... I'm definitely doing something wrong.... LOL!!!!

Jennifer, I've been away from gather for a while, and have just now started getting active again. When I was active before my average was about 12 points a day, so the 45 was a shocker to me.

When I'm active I make a point to post at least one thing a day. I reply to every comment I get. I visit the pages of everyone who comments on what I post, and leave at least one comment on their newest post. (If they have not posted anything new since last time I visited them, I just dont comment at that time.)

I read everything I visit, and try to leave a related comment, but something I just don't have anything to add and will just leave a note to say I visited.

I have a couple of comment lists I participate in, where you are on a list of other people, and everyone visits and leaves a certain # of comments on each others pages. (That what the copy/paste part up there was, the comment list I was visiting from.)

Mine are slow too - we're freezing over here and I desperately need that gift card to buy more insulation. But when you're freezing, it's tough to sit on the computer and type. *sigh* Maybe this week with the milder temps will see a burst of posting from me....
